Mission and Vision

To help support the exceptional men and women who will one day operate and maintain the nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine, the USS WISCONSIN, a group of Navy Veterans and Wisconsinites formed a tax exempt, not-for-profit organization incorporated in the State of Wisconsin.  Officially, we are the USS Wisconsin SSBN 827 Association, Inc. 

 As we build awareness and spread the good news about the USS Wisconsin, our Association will harness the synergy of key partners forming a strategic triad of active financial supporters, Wisconsinites, and the USS Wisconsin crew members.  Among our objectives is long term support of the boat and her crews from now through her ultimate Decommissioning in 2072.

Our Vision

  • We have lifelong bonds with crew members assigned to the USS WISCONSIN (SSBN 827).

  • Wisconsinites know and are proud of their namesake COLUMBIA Class Strategic Submarine.

  • Wisconsin schools, after-school programs, and youth clubs are active in STEM programs with unique submarine related projects.

Our Mission

Build and maintain a proud and active relationship with the citizens of Wisconsin and the Blue and Gold crews and families of USS Wisconsin (SSBN 827)

  • Encourage, advocate, and generate statewide support for the USS WISCONSIN throughout the life of this submarine and to educate the citizens of Wisconsin about their namesake submarine.

  • Support the morale, well-being and recreation of the Blue and Gold crews and their families.

  • Educate the crews about the beauty of Wisconsin and the heritage of previous vessels commissioned as USS Wisconsin.

  • Support STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education for Wisconsin students by applying nuclear submarine operation principles as a focal point.

  • Raise funds and finance appropriate events and activities associated with these objectives.
